What do you value most in a friendship?

This must be the week for me to talk about patience and acceptance because this is exactly what I value the most in a friendship. We need to all be patient and accept our friends for our differences and quirks. I find the friends that value diversity and tolerance become the treasures of friendship that are the most valued over a lifetime.

Do you prefer eating the frosting of the cake or the cupcake first? Do you prefer a specific flavor?

Hmmm.  Well, since I’m gluten intolerant, most cupcakes I can’t eat.  Even if I could, I still prefer the frosting. Favorite flavor? Chocolate, of course!

Have you ever been in a submarine? If you haven’t, would you want to?

Only at an amusement park, I can’t remember if it was Disney World or where, but it was forever ago.  Would I like to be on a real one?  Again – Of Course!

If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours?

That’s a little tricky, consider most people my age are married.  I’ve been single for over 37 years. Is marriage more satisfying than being single? It’s a matter of perspective or who you’re married to.  If I only considered age and not marital status, I might say, that it’s a 50/50 deal.   Life is what you make it, no matter your age. But I would consider I’ve had a pretty satisfying life, and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for me in my retirement. (if I ever really retire)

What I’m grateful for this week are those treasures, I call friends.  Those that have been non-judgemental with me, patient with me, understanding of my weaknesses, understanding of my illness and temperament when I know  I’m being a real bitch. I’m looking forward to connecting with my friends this weekend and taking in a movie.
