In 2009 my daughter moved to Galveston, Texas just weeks before Hurricane Ike hit. Fortunately, my daughter lived right behind the seawall and her home was relatively protected. However, only a few blocks away the historic district of Galveston flooded. This is the mark of the flooding and the height of the flood waters. I’m only 5 foot 4 inches tall to give some perspective.

I was just glad my daughter was ok . I now have more empathy when you actually see and experience disasters

Wow! Glad to hear that daughter and home safe and sound, but sorry to hear about the historic district of Galveston.

they finally recovered from Ike, dont know about how theu fared through Harvey.
