Childhood Memories

RDP #58 – Memories

Do you ever have a fragrance, a color or an image that immediately reminds you of your childhood?

Have you ever come across something that you haven’t seen since your childhood and wish you had that again?

Today I did come across all of those things in just one plant at the Denver Botanic Gardens.

I grew up in Wichita, Kansas, in a typical middle-class neighborhood.  Our house didn’t have low windows in the bedrooms but high narrow ones, but right outside my bedroom was my favorite bush.  A Rose of Sharon.  It was HUGE.  I loved it and I would love to have one now in my yard.  Today during my stroll through the gardens I found MY  Rose of Sharon and reminisced.
