Share Your World – January 15, 2018

What is your favorite comfort snack food? 

I don’t think I have a favorite, but I do enjoy chips and vegetable dip on occasion.

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

My first job, ever, was when I was 14 as a result of not liking the orange wide wale corduroy pants and paisley orange shirt my mother had just purchased for me without my opinion. All it took was a look of disappointment in my eyes for her to say that I needed to get a job and buy my own clothes from then on.   I didn’t dare speak my displeasure or object, but she knew.  The next day I got a job for 35 cents an hour.  I loved that job.  It got me out of the house and I met lots of friends there.   I was a proud “carhop” at the A & W Rootbeer stand.  I even have one souvenir from those times – a baby Rootbeer mug.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?

Now that I see the pictures of the impetus to get my first job, I appreciate that first job and the ability to buy my own clothes. 🙂
