Flower of the Day – May 3, 2017 – Vinca

When I moved into my house, my front garden only had lava rocks and a couple of scraggly bushes in it. I absolutely hated those lava rocks, but I can’t grow flowers or keep things growing unless they don’t need a lot of tending or water.  I always forget to water plants.  Finally,  I found some ground cover that comes back every year, VINCA, and in the spring and fall, it presents me with these sweet little blue flowers.  So now, instead of rocks and bushes, I have a nice little garden covered in Vinca with a few rose bushes thrown in.  I hope to plant a few more this year as I finally got rid of the scraggly juniper bushes last year.
