Have you ever participated in a distance walking, swimming, running, or biking event? Tell your story.
I severed my Achilles tendon when I was younger and that limits my athletic prowess a little bit. Officially, the only distance walking event I did was the Furry Scurry, a dog and owner 4K walk/run to raise money for the Colorado Humane Society. Oberon did his first Scurry with me last year, but I’ve done with some of my other dogs in the past. In fact, it should be coming up again soon, so we are looking forward to it. Obie is more mature this year and I think he will enjoy it more that last year. He was only 6 months old the first time out.
Name one thing not many people know about you.
That I have an affirmation phrase written in lipstick on all my mirrors in my house to remind me that “I am enough”. I have my insecurities and doubts, I look in the mirror at times and wonder what the hell is going on. This phrase reminds me that I am enough to overcome these insecurities, these doubts and any problems that may arise.
What is your favorite flower?
I love gardenias, but I can never get a gardenia plant to grow. I try, just no success. I love their fragrance, their velvety white petals and their shape.
Things I want to have in my home (paintings, hot tubs, book cases, big screen tv etc)
Actually, I’ve been taking inventory of my home and think it is time to purge my home of many belongings. I am seriously looking at downsizing my lifestyle in a major way * a tiny house. If I were to decide the absolute things I need to have in my home, I would say, I need my computer and artwork. A tv is nice, because it gives me some sound in an otherwise very quiet household, but not necessary. I don’t really watch that much and I can get entertainment on my computer.
Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful my computer and camera made it safely through checked luggage to Athens, they really have come in handy. I’m grateful I have next week off for vacation. Aging is not fun, no one ever prepares you for this process of your body deciding not to cooperate, at least I have next week to catch up on seeing things here and hopefully can see most of what I planned and wanted to see.
