Rock Climbing

Giant boulders, courageous men climbing. Just seeing this and walking in the Garden of the Gods helps you to understand how this area got its name. That, and being under the blanket of the beautiful, big blue sky makes you realize just how small we are in this universe.

The best city park in the country! I grew up there, and spent many an hour exploring the rock formations; AND all the caves!

I went to high school near there. We had a place we called the overlook. It had a direct view of G of G. We used to go there a lot. Now, there are boulders in front, and nobody can park there. It is a beautiful sight, when the sun sets on those rocks. I think Colorado is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I came back, after the Navy.

Out of all the places I have lived it is my favorite. The park has changed a lot over the years too.

It shocked me, every time I came home on leave, just how quickly the town had grown. We moved from Littleton in 1979. Back then, they had the population listed on the Woodmen and I-25 sign- 100,000 people. Four times more people now…
