Solitary Rock

I am the solitary  rock upon the shore.

The sands of time have left me here alone.

I have endured the endless ocean storms upon my surface

See how smooth and tranquil my face has become.

See how the sands go around me now,

They leave me alone.

They do not bother to try to sway me anymore.

The dark and the light grains of sand

They wear at me a little at a time,

But I remain steadfast, I make my mark ,

I am strong. I keep my face in the sun. I shine.
