Past, Present, Future-The Labyrinth

No matter how we try we can’t escape this maze in life, of our past influencing our present, which in turn ultimately will influence our future. The only thing we can do is take control of it.  I once heard when in a maze always take the right turns and you’ll find your way out. Personally,  I don’t know if it’s true.  I’ve never been in a real maze, only the ones I’ve created in my mind, but figuratively speaking, if I always take the right path, YES, I will find my way out.

As soon as I go against my gut feeling or against my instinct, I always take a step backwards in my personal growth and development. I will always need to rethink where I’m going or what I’m doing, and sometimes even who I’m doing it with.

Our pasts can be filled with happiness, pain and loss. But no matter what it was filled with, it is the past, it is a memory and as ephemeral as a vapor now. You can remember the good times and smile and move forward with those memories, knowing there will be more in the future.  If there is loss and pain, those vapors are just that, mist – let it pass through you, don’t let it be absorbed into your blood stream. Don’t let the darkness consume you or it takes control, then  you are not in control. Learn from the past mistakes, pain and loss.  Learn that you can become stronger and more independent, that you can accomplish things beyond that time because you now know the pieces of the puzzle that were missing.

The past losses may have left a hole within you. You think, how do I fill this hole? By living in the present!  Not dwelling in the past. Yes, it may have been wonderful, it may have been the best times of your life. But your life is not over. You are here now. You are in the NOW.  The Universe has great things in store for you, that’s why you are here.

Take a moment to yourself and just listen to what really is in your soul. Let your soul speak to you. Speak to you of the present. If you’re not happy with your job, your current situation, what are you going to do about it? Are you willing to continue to live this way? Are you going to take the right path or stay stagnant?

Albert Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” As a chemist, I know if an experiment does not yield the results I want, I must change my methods.  So must we as people, change our methods in life to have success. Leading a stagnant life, not taking action about circumstances that cause your unhappiness and expecting things to get better is only going to result in more unhappiness, you must up the stakes, step out of your comfort zone and change.

Our future depends on how we live in the present, so make the best of today, live for today, enjoy today, live with passion. Tomorrow will be a better day because of how you live today. Go Right.
