Traveling through Scotland and staying in Bed and Breakfast lodgings only, I really have never had a bad experience. One of the cutest stays I had was in Inverness when I had access to a whole house. This was my bedroom with en suite. I loved the window over the bed. Not only were we served breakfast here, but also a very nice dinner. Lovely hostess.
