The Ponte Vecchio

The Ponte Vecchio (“Old Bridge”) is a medieval stone closed-spandrel segmental arch bridge over the Arno River, in Florence, Italy, noted for still having shops built along it, as was once common. Butchers initially occupied the shops; the present tenants are jewelers, art dealers, and souvenir sellers. Travel theme: Paths © 2017 Netdancer Photography -Candace…

Few doors catch my attention as I travel, I’m more of a gate fan.  I love architecture, however, and the simplicity of this Italian doorway caught my eye.  Simplicity and elegance describe the doorway to the historic Medici Bank in Florence with the Duomo closeby.
