Having read The Wild Wayfarer’s blog and the topic being “Places that Change Your Life”, I stopped and thought what one place that I have visited changed my life and direction . Stonehenge immediately came to mind. When I turned 60, I realized I hadn’t had a vacation in many years. I had been busy recovering from a life of mishap, unemployment, single-motherhood and then found myself finally self-sufficient. I finally had time for me. It was time for that “once in a lifetime” vacation. So I ask a friend to take a vacation to Scotland with me, my first trip internationally since I was 24. A major learning adventure, a major turning point in my life.
After visiting Stonehenge, I decided that this was not going to be a once in a lifetime trip and not my last international trip. It probably would be my last trip with a friend. I did learn I liked to travel solo and on my own schedule. Since then I have taken 7 international trips and am planning my next adventure. Yes, this mystical place of Stonehenge changed my life in more ways than one and I’m very happy about the results.
I love this! It’s amazing how somewhere has to power to really change you. It sounds like Stonehenge was an amazingly positive experience for you 🙂

The whole trip was, but Stonehenge really inspired the wanderlust in me. I realized just how many wonders of the world I had not seen.
